Merchandising Assistant (Internship)
_Interns Will Learn · Specialty apparel – formalwear for w_eddings, proms, first communions, quinceañeras · All product lines · Measure girls and women for dresses and gowns; measure boys and men for tuxedos and suits · Silhouettes and fabrics of gowns; styles and fabrics of tuxedos · Pricing strategies · Advertising and marketing techniques for bridal salon · Display and merchandising Assignments · Assist brides with selection of gowns · Interact with customers · Provide fashion suggestions and expertise to clients · Attend buying trips to NYC; including bridal markets, gift shows, stationery shows, children’s wear shows · Give opinion on styles selections for the season · Assist in philanthropic activities, including Operation PROM Supervision · Primarily supervised by owner · At least one “lesson” per week · Staff meetings Financial Support · Lunch (up to $5 per day) · 55¢per mile transportation (up to $5 per day) Timeframe · Weekends– Saturday 10am-2pm; Sunday 1pm-5pm (may be asked to stay more hours if helping a bride/customer) · Begins January 2013 through end of first semester 2013
